XANGA 2.0?
It all begins with an idea.
So, this is my first blog post on this site. It reminds me a great deal of when I used to write total cringe posts on Xanga back in the hay-day of teenage angst expression on myspace and all of that but hey I suppose if you’re here you’re interested in what I’m working on so I’ll keep it short and themed to what’s happening.
If you don’t know me, I am Evan Crowley. For the purposes of this website I work on film and music projects. Most of my work centers around the music industry - filming documentaries, music videos, behind-the-scenes footage, and other bits for musicians who are looking to reach their audience in such ways. I have quite a lot of experience filming and directing live concerts and events as well. We most recently did a benefit for Riptide Society featuring Candlebox and 3 Doors Down live at Haute Spot in Cedar Park. I was a producer, DIT, and assistant director for this shoot alongside Jake Sam who is a phenomenal director. This was our first shoot hiring a jib (crane) out at Haute Spot where I do most of my live music filming for Lightstream Media.
In other fun news I have found out that the music video I shot & directed for one of my new favorite bands, nolo, will be in rotation on MTV. This is my first video on MTV, and a really big milestone for me in terms of creative output, second only to Jonathan Terrell’s “Place Out Back” that is in regular rotation at Texas Roadhouse currently (I was the Director of Photography for this shoot)
In more personal news, I just got back from a quick trip out to Taos, NM - one of my favorite vacation spots for a bit of filming & fun. I worked with film Director Bradley Beesley to capture some content for owner of Violet Crown Cinema, Bill Banowsky who also has partnered with George R R Martin to restore Santa Fe Southern Railway (now known as Sky Railway) beyond its former glory to truly magical experience you can enjoy with friends or family. Drinks were had, lots of food was eaten, and it was a blast to spend a day in Santa Fe and a day in Taos.
Well that’s about it for now, I will try to post regularly here. I hope all is well for whoever you are reading this <3
